The challenge
Pelop.gr is a news site with a real presence in Google Discover. The job was not to buy clicks. It was to set up the newsroom flow for Discover: titles, entities, structure and a check before a story goes out.
From 1 February 2026 we took that work on. We installed and configured our Newsroom OS plugin on WordPress.
- Discover moves day by day with the news cycle.
- The newsroom needed a tool inside the CMS, not advice after publish.
- Results had to come from Search Console, not from impressions of success.
What we did
We installed and configured Newsroom OS. The plugin helps the desk work stories with Discover in mind: topic radar, scoring before a draft, and a cleaner structure for a news site.
We did not change the fact that Pelop.gr reports news. We changed how material is prepared and checked before it goes live.
- Newsroom OS inside the newsroom WordPress.
- Settings for Discover and story flow.
- Tracking in Google Search Console with the Discover filter.
The numbers
The figures come from a Google Search Console export for pelop.gr, search type Discover, last 16 months, through 26 September 2026.
We compare two equal 238-day windows: before 1 February 2026 and from 1 February 2026 to 26 September 2026. Clicks nearly doubled. Impressions rose 82%. CTR in that window moved from 8.3% to 9.2%.
The first months after the start were not the strongest. February and March were quieter. The lift shows clearly from May, with a peak in July.
- Before: 5.36M clicks / 64.5M impressions in 238 days.
- After: 10.76M clicks / 117.5M impressions in 238 days.
- Average clicks per day: from about 22.5k to about 45.2k.
- Best day in the sample: 22 Jul 2026 with 368,193 clicks.
What we do not claim
We do not say every click comes only from the plugin. Discover rises and falls with the news. July 2026 was exceptional. August and September moved closer to levels before that peak.
What we measure here is the period after we took the work, with Newsroom OS in place, against the previous period of the same length.
